Individual Consultant for Market Simulations Including the Long-term Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan (IGCEP)

Scope of Work
The Consultant is required to perform the following two main tasks: (1) Work with CPPA-G team to prepare and institutionalize the (i) Short-term simulation model (Day-ahead to few weeks) with expected results including hourly prices, units dispatch, flows in lines, ancillary services schedule etc., (ii) the Medium term model (few weeks to couple of years) with expected results including hourly prices, units dispatch, flows in lines, fuel consumption of selected units etc. within CPPA-G and (iii) Long-term model with expected results including average prices, prices captured by typical units, units dispatch etc. (2) To assist the network operator for preparing and institutionalizing the Long-term simulation model with outputs identifying new generation requirements by capacity, location and commissioning date. This assistance is for preparation of Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan (IGCEP). The Consultant will work with Strategy and Market Development department of CPPA-G to carry out these tasks.
Education & Experience/Skills


Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, minimum 15 years of overall experience in power sector, and minimum 10 years of experience in least cost generation planning. Also hands-on experience of using software tool(s) to perform least cost generation planning is essential.
